The Advanced Manufacturing Essential Skills 1 microcredential is designed to make you job-ready for entry manufacturing roles while also supporting your company's progress toward earning a Manufacturing Standard Skills Council (MSSC) Credential. This microcredential was developed in partnership with over 50 transportation equipment and aerospace companies in the North Country. Take this microcredential alone or as part of a two-microcredential series to expand your skillset and job opportunities. Successful completion of this microcredential acts as a prerequisite for the Advanced Manufacturing Essential Skills 2 microcredential. While this microcredential is a non-credit offering, completion of both the AMES 1 and 2 microcredentials will provide you with 3 credits toward an associate degree and waive the requirement to take the MEC 100 course, one of three in the Introduction to Mechanical Technology microcredential. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, apprenticeship and to immediately apply for technician, assembler or operator positions.
Credits earned in the completion of this microcredential can be applied toward completion of a related certificate or degree program. It is a building block that gives you a jump start to education and career success.
