Death Investigation
What you'll learn
The Death Investigation microcredential is intended for working professionals who want to gain specialized skills pertaining to death investigation scenes. You will analyze the manners, mechanisms and causes of death associated with postmortem changes. Then, based on your career desires and interests, you will customize the second portion of the microcredential by selecting either violent crime analysis or cold case investigation. In violent crime analysis you will analyze criminal justice data to understand criminal classifications and how research can assist in an investigation. In cold case investigation you will evaluate cold case files while incorporating advancements in forensic science and criminal investigation techniques. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study toward one of three bachelor's degrees and provides existing law enforcement professionals with the skills needed to keep pace or advance.
