This HVAC Technician Foundational Skills I microcredential is the first in a series and focuses on core concepts including air conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical fundamentals, as well as the essentials of customer service. You will gain in-demand technical and problem-solving skills and put those skills to work with hands-on learning. All courses are taught in person at the Mechatronics Lab at DCC’s Center of Excellence for Industry & Innovation in Fishkill, where you’ll work with the same tools used by HVAC professionals. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for further study and readies you to apply for entry-level technician positions in residential and commercial HVAC. Courses align with industry standards and introduces a pathway to EPA Section 608 certification.
