Elevate your skills with this Child Development Associate microcredential! Developed in partnership with the New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute, this microcredential prepares you to apply for the nationally recognized Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential through the Council for Professional Recognition. You will learn essential foundational knowledge in child development, cognitive development, social development, and language development. You will gain essential skills in infant/toddler childcare including observation and assessment, individual learning plan development, children and disabilities, fostering language development, and family engagement. In each course you will have the opportunity to put what you are learning into practice with a total of 120 hours of supervised experience in a childcare setting. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares all for continued study and to immediately apply for positions such as a preschool teacher, childcare worker, infant/toddler teacher, or teacher assistant paraprofessional.
Credits earned in the completion of this microcredential can be applied toward completion of a related certificate or degree program. It is a building block that gives you a jump start to education and career success.
