This is the next level in your journey to achieve all levels of the NYS teaching assistant certification! The second in a two-microcredential series, the Phase II Childhood Education microcredential creates a pathway for current and future teaching assistants to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to advance across the three teaching assistant certification levels designated by New York State. Building on the skills and experience gained in Phase I, this microcredential explores the role of the parent and teacher, the influence of peers, the influence of play, child behaviors, and teaching strategies. Prospective candidates will map education, classroom experience and education together to navigate all certification levels. If you have been working in a classroom or have dreamed of doing so, this microcredential series could be a perfect fit for you! Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, certification, and to immediately apply for teaching assistant positions.
Credits earned in the completion of this microcredential can be applied toward completion of a related certificate or degree program. It is a building block that gives you a jump start to education and career success.
