This Animal Law, Ethics and Enforcement microcredential focuses on the growing field of animal care law and code enforcement. You will learn the fundamental principles of animal law and ethics and understand New York State Law and federal animal statutes pertaining to the protection of animals while gaining essential skills in properly handling animal cruelty cases. This microcredential is designed for those who want to work to address animal cruelty in a variety of settings, including but not limited to police, who must enforce the anti-cruelty laws, animal control officers, animal welfare, care or legal professionals and shelter staff. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares all for continued study, provides specialized skills to current professionals, and readies those new to the field to immediately apply for animal control and care positions.
Credits earned in the completion of this microcredential can be applied toward completion of a related certificate or degree program. It is a building block that gives you a jump start to education and career success.
