CAD refers to the use of specialized software to create, modify, analyze, and optimize designs for various products, structures, or systems. Used in manufacturing, engineering, architecture and more, this microcredential provides you with essential CAD skills with broad applicability. You will become skilled in 2D Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), and 3D Solid Modeling, gaining essential experience in technical drawing, orthographic projection, dimensioning, and tolerancing techniques. You will also dive into advanced topics such as automation, fixture design and mechanical systems. Upon successful completion, you will be well-prepared to pursue industry-recognized certifications such as the CSWA (Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate), positioning you to apply for jobs as a CAD drafter as well as roles in quality assurance and product design.
