This Human Resources Management microcredential helps you to first understand the essentials of managing any business or organization and then provides you with the essential skills needed to hire, support and retain staff that will help to meet organizational mission and goals. You will study federal and state labor relations laws and the role of labor unions. You will gain essential skills in recruitment, interviewing and hiring and importantly, gain an understanding of the human motivation concepts that can drive effective training and programming. You will understand the function of Human Resources in both the private and the public sectors and learn different strategies for managing human resources and essential change. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study and readies those new to the field to immediately apply for entry or junior level human resource associate positions. This microcredential is also a great fit for small business owners who do not yet have a dedicated human resources function, for those looking to start businesses, and for those moving into management positions who will be hiring staff and managing teams.
