Continue to add essential skills with this DSP III Microcredential, the third in a three-microcredential series. In Otsego County and throughout New York, there is a growing need for specially trained Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work with, support, and advocate both for and with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.Thanks to a partnership with the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), limited time grant funding is available to pay for full tuition, fees, books, course materials, national certfication through the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals, and dedicated academic supports. Eligible students who successfully complete each microcredential and certification can earn $750 stipends. Successful completion of this microcredential moves you one step closer to a degree, preparing all for continued study and readies current DSPs for advancement. See links to the first two microcredentials in the series below.
