GTAW or TIG is a welding process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to create the weld. This welding process is widely used in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, and construction, due to its precision and ability to produce high-quality welds on a wide range of materials. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, provides existing professionals with specialized skills, and can also serve as an entry point to the field. Those new to the professional will be ready to immediately apply for entry or junior level welding positions and pursue weld certification on multiple joints and positions according to the AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1 welding code.
