Explore the power of Computer Aided Design (CAD) with this dynamic microcredential. CAD operators help to bridge the gap between designs and high-quality products. You will gain essential skills, knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting engineering and manufacturing drawings, creating solid models using software used widely in industry, creating detailed drawings for manufacturing and applying dimensions and tolerances-including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing or GD&T, to models and drawings according to industry standards. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, to take a national certification exam and achieve CSWA status as a Certified SolidWorks Associate, and to immediately apply for entry-level positions in the field of Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) such as drafting assistant, junior CAD designer, CAD technician or drafter, CAD detailer.
Credits earned in the completion of this microcredential can be applied toward completion of a related certificate or degree program. It is a building block that gives you a jump start to education and career success.
