What you'll learn
This Child Care: Professional Practice microcredential provides foundational knowledge and content in early child development, childcare, activity planning, and classroom management. You will explore the role of the teacher in promoting health, safety, and nutrition, as well as assuring adherence to state childcare licensing regulations. Curriculum planning will include information on creating a child-centered, child-led classroom; play-based learning centers; routines and schedules; parent involvement and communication; assessment and observation; intervention strategies; and the responsibilities of all in ensuring high-quality care. Successful completion of this microcredential readies you to continue your education and provides you with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional competence to obtain a teaching position in the childcare industry as well as apply for the nationally recognized Child Development Associate certification.
