This Front Line Supervisor microcredential provides an outstanding opportunity to elevate your skills and take your practice to the next level. Open to those currently in the role who have been supervising direct support professionals for at least months, this microcredential features best practices in human services leadership. You will focus on human resource responsibilities and your role as a leader, focusing on specific competencies including community and service networking, facilitating support services, hiring and training, supervision, performance reviews, professionalism and self-development. In a unique partnership between the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)and SUNY, students taking this microcredential may be eligible for a grant to support the full cost of tuition, fees and books. Embedded in the microcredential courses are assignments linked to the nationally recognized Front Line Supervisor certification from the National Association of Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). Successful completion of this microcredential awards six credits toward completion of a degree, national certification, and for eligible students, the opportunity to earn a $1,000 stipend.
