Explore the power of photography by drone for equipment siting through this Foundations of Drone Operations & Compliance microcredential! Designed with the manufacturing industry in mind, this microcredential begins with the instruction and flight time needed to prepare you for the required FAA Part 107 exam, which allows you to pilot drones. You will also be prepared to take a second required exam, The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) exam. You will learn all facets of drone photography and the professional post-production editing of collected footage using industry-standard software. At the end of the microcredential you will have a portfolio of aerial photographs and videos, demonstrating your ability to manage UAS missions effectively and produce in-demand photos and video footage to support decision making, guide equipment placement, and secure visual asset management. Successful completion of this microcredential readies all to continue their studies with the Drone Operations: Mapping and Logistics microcredential listed below and then onto the HVAC or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) degree program, and provides those working in HVAC or MET with in-demand, specialized skills that can increase efficiencies, inform decision making and open up new business opportunities.
