What you'll learn
This Manual Machinist microcredential is the second in the Machining microcredential series, valuable on its own and in conjunction with the related microcredentials highlighted below. Building on your foundational knowledge in manufacturing and technical drawings, the focus here is on building your skill set in reading and generating detailed CAD drawings used in manufacturing, providing you with experience in both manual and computer aided drafting using AutoCAD software. You will also gain essential experience in more advanced manual machining practices. Successful completion of this microcredential readies all to continue their education, through the Machining Series and onto the Machine Tool A.A.S. degree. While shops have varying requirements for entry level roles, this microcredential prepares you to immediately apply for entry level machinist roles such as a manual Millor Lathe Machinist, under the supervision of an experienced supervisor.
