Advanced Foundations of Career and Technical Education
What you'll learn
This Advanced Foundations of Career and Technical Education (CTE) microcredential builds on the skills gained in the Foundations of CTE microcredential and is designed to support CTE Certification in New York State. You will strengthen skills in instruction and assessment across common career and technical fields, with a specific focus on literacy. You will also study facility design and management to accommodate the hands-on instructional needs of technical education. Successful completion of this microcredential readies you to continue your education at the undergraduate or graduate levels. Depending on your education and/or work experience, you may also be ready to apply to the New York State Education Department to become CTE certified. In addition to academic and/or work experience requirements, certification requires completion of mandatory safety workshops and fingerprinting.
