Drone Surveying
What you'll learn
Bring the power of drones to your surveying work through this Drone Surveying microcredential! Specifically designed with those in the construction industry in mind, this microcredential begins with the instruction and flight time needed to prepare you for the required FAA Part 107 exam, which allows you to pilot drones. You will also be prepared to take the required Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) exam. You will learn maintenance and repair of unmanned aircraft systems. Then you will explore the field of surveying through hands-on, realistic drone exercises to learn measurements, leveling, field-book recording, construction layouts, and traversing. Successful completion of this microcredential readies all to continue their studies with the Drone Operations: Mapping and Logistics microcredential listed below and then onto the Construction Management Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree programs. This microcredential provides those in the construction industry with in-demand, specialized skills that can increase efficiencies and open up new business opportunities.
