What you'll learn
Seeking grant support is an essential responsibility of government officials at every level. Through this Local Government: Grant Writing microcredential, you will earn essential skills in navigating local government structures, identifying grant opportunities, and developing successful grant applications. You will build on your understanding of state and local government institutions and policy-making processes while building the fundamental skills of grant research, proposal writing, budgeting, and evaluation. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, provides existing governmental leaders and staff with specialized skills needed to keep pace or advance, and supports application to positions such as grant writer, municipal policy analyst, or grants administrator. Credits from this microcredential may be applied to NYAOT's Certified Town Official (CTO) Program. Check with the campus about possible scholarship funding from the New York Municipal Empowerment Foundation.
