This program provides training in clinical procedures used by entry-level Medical Assistants working in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, and other healthcare settings. MAs are multi-skilled allied healthcare professionals who may administer medications, assist with minor procedures, record vital signs, take medical histories, prepare patients and rooms for examinations, handle laboratory specimens, provide patient education, and much more. The program also includes resume, interview preparation, and job placement. Students pursuing CMA certification typically pursue CNA, HHA, or LPN certifications as well, and may be interested in pursuing a nursing degree or general healthcare degree. The target audience tends to be non-traditionally aged students, and females enroll at larger numbers than males for this program.
The estimated cost listed is tuition only. Books, fees, and other expenses are not included and cannot be covered by Part-Time TAP for Non-Degree Programs.
