This ASL and Communication Strategies microcredential recognizes the prominence of American Sign Language (ASL) in the Deaf community as well as its increasing use as a language central to developmental education, those with communication disorders and more. Students will take three progressive levels of ASL as well as a course in Deaf culture and signing for those with autism and developmental needs. Informed by local education in the Deaf community, successful completion of this microcredentials prepares all learners to communicate at an advanced level. This is an essential skillset for educators, managers, supervisors, co-workers and more.
Credits earned in the completion of this microcredential can be applied toward completion of a related certificate or degree program. It is a building block that gives you a jump start to education and career success.
