The CGCC Foundations of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Microcredential is a nine-credit program designed to attract and prepare students for success in diverse, inclusive workplaces and communities. Through an examination of major social institutions in the United States and their connections to power, conflict, and social change, students explore critical concepts such as privilege, justice, oppression, and bias related to social class, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, and ethnicity. The program builds cultural awareness, sensitivity, and analytical skills that are increasingly valued by employers across industries. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares students to engage effectively in diverse environments, apply inclusive practices, and contribute meaningfully to equity and inclusion efforts in professional and community settings.
