Embark on a comprehensive exploration of engineering essentials for manufacturing with this Basic Engineering microcredential! This is a uniquely larger microcredential informed by business and industry partnerships that gives you a jump-start on your Engineering Science degree while also helping you to move into the workplace more quickly with both foundational and specialized skills that apply in multiple manufacturing settings. You will study the engineering design principles that drive manufacturing including 3D modeling, CAD/CAM design, calculations, spatial analysis and prototyping. You will explore the advancements in robotics and automation and additive manufacturing or 3D printing. You will gain foundational knowledge of chemistry, physics and calculus as it relates to the manufacturing process. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, internships, apprenticeship, and to immediately apply for entry-level positions such as a manufacturing, engineering, or automation technician working under an experienced supervisor.
