You will study and be able to prepare visual communication (drawings, blueprints, models) using leading software that helps to convey complex information about design, dimensions and materials. You will gain fundamental knowledge and skill in statics, the stability of materials, so that you understand the feasibility of your designs. Statics is crucial for ensuring that, for example, a proposed building can withstand proposed weight and forces like weather and seismic activity. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares all for continued study and provides existing construction and MEP professionals with specialized skills in sound building construction practices, readying them to pace or advance to materials planning, CAD or drafting positions. This microcredential can also prepare those new to the field for jobs as a CAD technician or drafter and provide a value add for those studying construction and related fields.
