What you'll learn

Nurture young minds through early childhood education! Prepare for roles in childcare and preschool settings with this Early Childhood Assistant microcredential that has been designed to meet the training requirements of the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC). You will gain a deeper understanding of child development and how to create a rich environment that nurtures learning through play. You will participate in two field trainings totaling 45 hours, with half of that time in an infant setting and the other half in a toddler or pre-school setting. You will learn how to maintain a safe and fun environment while observing child progress and using information gained to individualize programming and support for each learner. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study and to immediately apply for assistant positions in childcare and preschool settings.
