What you'll learn

Take your business expertise to the next level with this Advanced Accounting Skills microcredential! The third in a three-part microcredential series, this advanced program provides you with a foundation in business investment situations, including simple and compound interest, annuities (ordinary due, deferred, complex, perpetuity and forborne), and applications of present value and future value. You then have the opportunity to customize the microcredential by studying either managerial accounting (cost accounting, manufacturing accounting) or federal income tax (navigating tax regulations and optimizing financial strategies). With a focus on real-world case studies and practical applications, you will develop the critical thinking and analytical skills needed to excel in today's dynamic financial environment. Successful completion of this microcredential provides existing professionals such as bookkeepers, accounting clerks, or tax preparers with a pathway to advancement and continued study. Note: Students who complete all three microcredentials will need only take two additional courses to earn a registered certificate in accounting. Students who want to take this microcredential without completing the other two in the series will add one additional course, ACTG 110 Financial Accounting or equivalent.
