What you'll learn

The CASAC Core III microcredential is the third and final credential required for individuals to complete the core educational components by OASAS to receive their CASAC-T (Credential for Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling-Trainee). The final microcredential focuses on special areas of treatment and assessment. A second internship with the successful completion of 168 field hours in an approved OASAS facility and seminar allow you to put your skills to work. Additionally, this microcredential focuses on working with diverse populations and understanding the social and cultural norms associated with addictions. Content focuses on developing a foundation for cultural competence and developing the ability to adjust assessment and treatment planning to cultural characteristics of clients. Your faculty will work with you on the steps required to secure your certification.
