What you'll learn
Build your Medical Coding career with our specialized microcredential! This microcredential provides the essential skills, knowledge and experience needed to work in a variety of healthcare settings using both the CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding Systems) models. You will understand medical terminology and basic human anatomy and physiology. You will understand insurance practices including reimbursements and how to file a claim. You will be able to document medical conditions and procedures using current coding language. Successful completion prepares you for continued study, to take the AAPC (formerly known as the American Academy of Professional Coders) Coding Certification Exam and to immediately begin applying for work!
