What you'll learn

Hone your support skills and become certified. This Direct Support Professional (DSP) I microcredential provides the education, skills and training necessary to earn national certification from the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). DSPs support and advocate for and with people with developmental disabilities as they engage in their communities. This microcredential is the first in a three-part series, and qualified individuals may be eligible for limited time grant funding from the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) that covers all tuition, fees, books, course materials, NADSP credentialing, and educational support. Eligible students who successfully complete each microcredential and certification can earn $750 stipends. Successful completion readies you for continued study and career advancement. For those new to the field, you will be ready to immediately apply for DSP positions.
