Designed for current medical office professionals who have a minimum of two years of work experience, this microcredential is designed to prepare you for practice management roles in single or small group physician practices. You will learn healthcare system operations and structures and understand the core principles of practice management. You will study public and community health, its challenges and opportunities. You will finetune your administrative skills focusing on the role of business in healthcare, ways to improve patient outcomes and systemic challenges of practice administration. You then have an opportunity to customize this microcredential taking coursework in global health or healthy aging, depending on your area of interest. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you to sit for the Certified Medical Manager national certification, issued by the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM). You will be prepared to immediately apply for office management positions as well as to continue your studies.
