What you'll learn

Reach new heights in your Direct Support Professional (DSP) Career! DSPs work with individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities to support their full integration into their environments and communities. This microcredential is the third in a three-microcredential series where you undertake study of neurodiversity and autism spectrum disorder and explore the professional and ethical responsibilities as a DSP. Thanks to a partnership with the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), limited time grant funding is available to pay for your tuition, fees, books, course materials, NADSP credentialing, and educational support. Eligible students who complete each microcredential and certification can earn $750 stipends. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares all for further study and readies existing DSPs for advancement, and those new to the profession to immediately apply for DSP positions.
