What you'll learn

Continue your preparation for the challenges of a Nursing Degree or healthcare related academic program with this Pre-Nursing Primer Part 2 microcredential! Building on the foundational knowledge of biology and chemistry you mastered in Part 1 of this microcredential series, this microcredential focuses on human anatomy and physiology. You will understand key systems including muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory. You will also study microbiology, learning the way that viruses and bacteria impact the body. Successful completion of this microcredential alone gives you a 12-credit jumpstart on the Corning Community College associate degree in Nursing; 19 credits if you complete both microcredentials in the series. It was designed in consideration of transfer requirements and in consultation with local healthcare employers. If you discover that nursing may not be the path for you, your credits may also be applied toward the Liberal Arts and Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences A.S. degree.
