What you'll learn

Elevate your skills as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with the DSP I microcredential! DSPs work to support and advocate for and with people with developmental disabilities-this is the first in a three-microcredential series. You will gain the essential skills, knowledge and experience to earn DSP I certification from the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). Thanks to a partnership with the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), limited time grant funding is available to pay for your tuition, fees, books, course materials, NADSP credentialing, and educational support. Eligible students who successfully complete each microcredential and certification can earn $750 stipends. Successful completion prepares you for continued study and to advance in your career. For those new to the profession you are prepared for continued study and to immediately apply for DSP positions.
