This Human Services microcredential introduces you to this broad field that provides services and programs aimed at meeting basic needs and improving quality of life for people with behavioral disorders, mental health disorders, addiction, disabilities, and trauma. You will understand behavioral sciences, human development, and the pillars of psychology. You will study early career options and gain related essential skills including patient advocacy, resource identification, socialization, ethical conduct and behavior, research strategies, effective communication and conflict resolution. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for further study and allows you to apply for entry-level positions in community health, behavioral health or social services including case manager or community health worker.
