SMAW welding is widely used in various industries due to its versatility, simplicity, and ability to weld a wide range of materials and thicknesses. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, provides existing professionals with specialized skills, and can also serve as an entry point to the field. Those new to the professional will be ready to immediately apply for entry or junior level welding positions and pursue weld certification on multiple joints and positions according to the AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1 welding code.
