What you'll learn

Prepare to launch into New York's manufacturing industry with this Machining/CNC Operator microcredential! Skills learned will address the basic requirements of CNC operation in many segments of manufacturing. Through a combination of classroom study and hands-on experience, you will learn how to set up and operate CNC machines as well as manual lathes and mills. You will master related essential skills such as blueprint reading, metrology, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD and T), and cutting tool selection. You will work through real-world applications to solve a variety of manufacturing-related problems. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, apprenticeship and to immediately apply for entry-level manufacturing positions in machining or quality control working under an experienced supervisor.
