Distinguished skills for the Direct Support Professional! The Direct Support Professional II microcredential is the second in a series, along with Direct Support Professional I, and prepares you to help people with developmental disabilities engage in their communities. This is a unique opportunity to earn national certification and to learn as you practice. Open to current professionals in the field and those seeking to begin a new career. Thanks to a partnership with the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), limited time grant funding is available to pay for your tuition, fees, books, course materials, NADSP credentialing, and educational support. Eligible students who successfully complete each microcredential and certification can earn $750 stipends. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, prepares existing DSPs for advancement, and readies those new to the profession to immediately apply for DSP positions.
This microcredential is stackableCredits earned in the completion of this microcredential can be applied toward completion of a related certificate or degree program. It is a building block that gives you a jump start to education and career success.
