What you'll learn

Start on a journey to support individuals in recovery with this Recovery Peer Coaching and Advocacy microcredential. Recognizing the invaluable role of empathy and guidance in supporting individuals on their recovery journey, this microcredential is designed to build your skills as a peer coach. You will have the opportunity to put what you have learned into a real-world setting by completing the related internship. This microcredential is sequenced to allow successful participants who have met the Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers of New York State requirements and completed the first semester of this microcredential to sit for the state certification exam to qualify them to become a NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate through third party certification. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study and to immediately apply for peer roles.
