What you'll learn

Elevate your skills to the highest levels with the Direct Support Professional (DSP) III microcredential. DSPs make a difference in the lives of others – with a focus on assisting people with developmental disabilities. This microcredential aligns with the DSP III certification offered to DSPs through the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP), which means the work you do at DCC is recognized across the country. This microcredential is the third in a series of three, along with the DSP I and DSP II Microcredentials, that are part of a new, limited time grant program from the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). We encourage you to take all three. This microcredential series is open to those new to the profession and those already working in the field. Thanks to a partnership with OPWDD, limited time grant funding is available to pay for your tuition, fees, books, course materials, NADSP credentialing, and educational support. Eligible students who successfully complete each microcredential and certification can earn $750 stipends. Successful completion readies you for continued study and career advancement. For those new to the field, you will be ready to immediately apply for DSP positions.
