New York State Master Teacher logoThe New York State Master Teacher Program is a vibrant professional network of more than 1400 outstanding public school K-12 STEM teachers throughout the state who share a passion for their own STEM learning and for collaborating with colleagues to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.

In January of 2022, Governor Hochul announced the expansion of the NYS Master Teacher Program to create a cohort of counselors and to encourage more teachers with CTE certificates related to STEM careers that are projected to be in high demand to apply.

New York's teachers are the vital force behind our state's leading education system, and it is crucial that teachers are provided opportunities to grow within their field. I am incredibly proud of the teachers we have in our state, who prove time and time again that they will go beyond the scope of their responsibilities to do right by our children.
- Governor Kathy Hochul
