Flex Spending Accounts (FSA) - offers ways to pay for dependent care and health care expenses with pre-tax dollars
NYS 529 College Savings Program - allows participants to save money for their eligible beneficiaries qualifying higher education expenses (tuition, books, supplies, etc.) at any eligible post-secondary school in the United States and abroad. Click here for a NY529 Direct flyer.
Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program - As a NYS employee, you may qualify to participate in the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan and while working full-time for an eligible employer.
NYS Paid Family Leave for Unclassified Service Employees (UUP 08, MC 13) - provides for a Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefit for eligible employees working in New York State.
NYS Paid Parental Leave - provides 12 weeks of fully paid leave for eligible state employees to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. Eligible employees may take leave with pay (no charge to accruals) for up to 12 weeks for each qualifying event.
Long-Term Disability Leave for Unclassified Service Employees (UUO 08, MC13) - helps to replace a percentage of earnings if an eligible employee becomes disabled.
MC Income Protection Plan (IPP) - provides eligible management confidential (MC 06) employees a short- and long-term disability benefit at no cost to the employee.
MC Life Insurance Plan - provides eligible management confidential (MC13) employees group life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance at competitive rates.
NYS Work-Life Services - negotiated benefits programs for Executive Branch employees, designed to increase employee productivity and morale by improving the quality of work and life for employees
Employee Assistance Program - provides confidential information, assessment, and referral services to NYS employees, their families, and retirees for a wide range of issues including work, family, finances, health & well-being, mental health, addiction, and stress; EAP coordinator contacts are available here, or via (800) 822-0244 (24/7)
Childcare Centers - worksite childcare centers hosted by agencies across New York State to provide convenient, quality care at affordable rates for children of New York State employees
