Why Choose an Apprenticeship?

As an apprentice, the benefits to your education and career are numerous. Apprentices carry little to no student debt upon completion of the program. You’ll earn as you learn. In addition to a SUNY education, you receive real work experience and broadened skill sets that lead to a nationally recognized certificate and the opportunity to continue to work toward a college degree.

Who Can Participate in the Apprenticeship Programs at SUNY?

• Must be 18 years old (no maximum age limit).
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or TASC).
• Possess a strong work ethic.
• Willingness and desire to learn and work in the trade you choose.
