Student research, entrepreneurial ventures, field study, and international opportunities. While SUNY research has historically resulted in breakthrough discoveries, inventions, and start-ups, increased focus on applied learning has led to an unprecedented level of collaboration between SUNY students, faculty, and industry experts to enable commercialization of the best ideas and innovations born on SUNY campuses.
Through applied learning opportunities students engaging in entrepreneurial ventures can work with business and industry partners to test their ideas in a hands-on setting, and SUNY students interested in the agricultural and technical sectors utilize their field work experiences to prepare them for life after SUNY. Many forms of applied learning can and do happen abroad, creating meaningful and transformative experiences for students.
