SUNY CS Policy - Introduction

The SUNY Collaboration Service (SUNY CS) is a pre-formatted Wiki web service that provides the users with the ability to securely archive, share, and communicate pages, documents, and rich content with an identified group, committee or project team.  This service, although secured, is easily accessible from anywhere there is an internet connection and contains an easy to use basic editor.

The SUNY CS can be used to communicate any and all information such as: member contact information, shared documents (both editable and non-editable), calendar info, news, blogs, and help demos.   The SUNY CS also includes a search function that performs a search on all pages, blogs, news items, calendar items and attached documents within each individual Wiki space; making it easy to find information quickly.

The SUNY CS is offered by ITEC and supported in collaboration with System Administration.  System Administration and ITEC will support the basic template rollout for any SUNY CS space; however if a main contributor/owner of the space chooses to improve their SUNY CS space by code enhancements they will be responsible for the stability of that SUNY CS space.  System Administration will attempt to assist with any code enhancements or issues related to additional enhancements. However, this support will only be offered when there are resources available.

Best Use: When there is a need for secured sharing of information and documents between team or committee members via the web.
