Purpose

The purpose of the SUNY Web Site is to support SUNY campuses by providing interactive electronic communication with our various audiences.  These audiences include other campuses, students, employees, parents, affiliated organizations and businesses.

Anything published on suny.edu represents SUNY, and therefore must be developed carefully and maintained to the highest professional standards. It must be accurate, grammatically correct, consistent, up-to-date, useful, concise, user friendly, graphically well-designed and compliant with applicable standards.

Responsibility

The development and maintenance of Web sites under suny.edu are based on a distributed model of responsibility, with shared accountability and opportunity.

The Administrative Systems / Web Shared Services department provides assistance to campuses, individual offices and departments within several areas related to the Web. The areas of responsibility break down as follows:
