Any New York State rape crisis center, domestic violence program, hospital, related medical provider, or law enforcement agency may request free comfort bags. The bags can be distributed to any victim of crime or violence.
The SUNY’s Got Your Back comfort bags contain over 10 personal hygiene and self-care products as well as resources on where to receive more assistance.
Bags contain: Small towel, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, comb, cosmetic kit, tissues, notebook, pen, crayons, stress ball, resource pamphlets, and a message of support hand-signed by one of our volunteers
We host SUNY’s Got Your Back events at all 64 SUNY campuses! At these events the comfort bags are assembled with the help of volunteers. We then deliver the bags to agencies across New York State that serve survivors of crime and violence. It is very rewarding to know that you are helping someone in their time of need by putting together these much-needed comfort kits!
Our free mirror clings provide quick information about support services in times of need. Designed to be easily and cleanly peeled off any surface, the mirror clings provide information that victims can take with them.
