Road Safety: Although SUNY strongly discourages students from renting or operating vehicles while abroad, it is still vitally important to be informed about the rules of the road, public transportation, and pedestrian safety in foreign countries. The World Health Organization website has useful information on Road Safety. Also, the Association for Safe International Road Travel (ASIRT) provides resources and tips (see "Planning a Trip Abroad?") on road safety for travelers.
