Scholarships for military and veterans are designed to support those who have served, or are currently serving, and their family members. They are offered by private organizations and military and veteran associations. The awards can cover educational expenses such as tuition, fees, and books. Many of the scholarships are available to spouses and dependents, helping military families achieve their academic and career goals.
Annually awards scholarships to Veterans/active military, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. A son, daughter or grandchild of a deceased Veteran is also eligible. One of the nation’s largest organizations for Veterans, the organization awards the AMVETS National Scholarship to high school students to help pay for undergraduate coursework. Students must currently be seniors in high school and must meet additional scholarship requirements.
Individuals eligible for the Leadership Through Action – Tillman Military Scholars program include Veterans and active Service Members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve); Service Members pursuing undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, two-year, four-year, public, private, vocational, and trade degrees or certifications; and dependents of Service Members (children and spouses).
Created to recognize the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community. The parent must be active duty, reserve/guard, or retired military personnel or you are the survivor of a deceased member, and you have a military dependent I.D. card you can apply.

The Fleet Reserve Foundation represents the US Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Students may apply for Foundation scholarships if they are affiliated with these three military branches through their own service or that of a spouse, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent. Multiple scholarship programs are offered.
Awarded annually by the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), this scholarship is available to the "daughters, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of Veterans who served in the Armed Forces" during or after World War II ("any time after December 7, 1941"). The scholarship amount is $5,000, which may be used for tuition, books, fees, room, and board.

The Army Scholarship Foundation offers multiple scholarship programs to spouses and family members of current or former Army service members.

Scholarships range from $2,500 to $5,000. Children of an active duty, retired, or active reserve Coast Guard member are eligible to apply.

Awards multiple scholarships to the children and grandchildren of U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, US Flag Merchant Marines, and US Naval Sea Cadet Corps, including Veterans and active-duty servicemembers.
Eligible candidates are dependent children and spouses of a US Navy active duty, retired, or honorably discharged or deceased Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty officer of the Navy. Two $5,000 scholarships and 20-50 $2,000 scholarships are offered.
Awards 9 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to $1,500. To be eligible, applicants must be the child, grandchild, great grandchild, or spouse of an enlisted member of the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, active duty, retired, widow or widower.
High school seniors who are the children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren of soldiers who have served in the First Infantry Division of the US Army as well as children of active duty soldiers of the division are eligible.
North American Van Lines offers the Military Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Operational Management Scholarship to qualifying current or former active-duty military and their dependents. Upon the contest’s completion, two winners will be chosen to receive an award of $1,000 each. Eligible students must full-time student of an accredited college/university within the United States for completion of an undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field. Applicants must be one of the following: an honorably discharged veteran or current member of the active military (including National Guard and Reserves); a spouse of a current military service member or honorably discharged veteran; a child (under age 21 or full-time student under age 23) of a current military service member or honorably discharged veteran.
Student Veterans of America (SVA) offers various higher education scholarships, and these awards are typically distributed in a way that does not interfere with the GI Bill or other financial aid. Many of these opportunities are created in partnership with major corporate sponsors, offering funding ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.
