Start Here First: Instructions for Using this site

Welcome to the State University of New York’s Study Abroad website. This site is a searchable database of study abroad opportunities offered by campuses throughout the SUNY system. Campuses are adding new programs all the time and we highly recommend checking individual campus websites for the most up-to-date and detailed information about the programs you are interested in. In addition to this website, the University at Buffalo has a running list of programs offered throughout the system as well that you may find useful.

With hundreds of opportunities to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming at first. Read below for the basics on how to use this site and be sure to reach out to your home campus study abroad office for even more personal assistance. If you are a SUNY student, you can find contact information for your study abroad office here.

On the next page, you will see a map with four search filters on the left-hand side of the screen. Choose at least one filter to search by: Location (Where to?), Academic subject (Studying What?), Term, or Program Type.

After you choose your criteria from any of the four filters, click on the green “Save Filters” box at the top of the search bar. The map will then display the number of study abroad programs in each country, based on the filters you selected.

At this point, you can either click on the box associated with the country you are interested in from the map, or click “Show Results” from the left hand side of the page to see a list of all results matching your search criteria.
