T.H. Technical Director of Clinical Laboratory (SL6)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Application of the science of human behavior to persons with emotional or behavioral disorders to facilitate the normal growth and development of the individual.

• Plans, directs, controls and evaluates laboratory services.
• Responsible for the overall administration of the clinical laboratories.
• Establishes goals and policies;
• maintains state-of-the-art diagnostic testing procedures, insures quality assurance, prepares the budget [develops budget and is responsible and accountable to Hospital Administration for achieving budgetary targets];
• authorizes equipment purchase;
• oversees personnel matters.
• Responsible for continuing education, inspection, and accreditation including NYS Department of Health, JCAH, AABB, etc.
• Insures proper Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement;
• serves as chief liaison with administration and management from other institutional departments, and serves as a primary community resource.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in Medical Technology, eight years related experience to include three years in a supervisory/ administrative capacity, ASCP or equivalent required.
