T.H. Physical Therapist III (SL2)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a job family, Physical Therapists work closely with other members of the health care team, patients and their families, to plan the evaluation and treatment of the patient's needs and to develop and administer programs aimed at strengthening the body.
- Evaluates patients through various testing measures, plans treatment and executes it keeping everyone abreast of progress through written and verbal reports.
- Schedules patients, keeps attendance and treatment records.
- May serve as a clinical instructor for junior level students.
- Provides instruction to the patient, family members and other health care professionals involved in the care of the patient;
- provides supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants, aides and volunteers;
- consults with physician regarding patient care;
- participates in departmental in-services and other departmental and interdepartmental activities.
- Functions under general supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Physical Therapy, NYS license (or eligible, but must pass in one year) with zero (to two) years experience.
